Danfoss Inc. and LOYTEC electronics GmbH have signed a strategic cooperation agreement by which Danfoss will use the LOYTEC LC7093 communications chip and also its ORION protocol stack for use in Danfoss electronic control products for supermarkets. Henrik B. Christensen, director of research and development at Danfoss in Baltimore, said that Danfoss has used LonWorks® technology for over nine years, and reaffirmed the Danfoss commitment to LonWorks as the industry standard for control communications and interoperability.
"The LOYTEC chip, together with their software, will help us take our next step forward. Together, the LOYTEC products we will be using are a cost-efficient way to greatly enhance our system's communications performance and flexibility," Christensen said. The LOYTEC LC7093 chip will replace the Neuron® chip Danfoss currently uses for control network communications management.
