The Austria Campus has been designed with a strong emphasis on ecological and sustainability standards. Since 2019, the building has received official DGNB Gold certification from the Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate Management. The achievement of the LEED Gold certification is a testament to the commitment of sustainability building practices. The Austria Campus features a cutting-edge ventilation and shading control system that operates automatically, contributing significantly to the building’s efficient heating and cooling processes.

GTS Automation was able to shine with their complete solution, providing their flexible axis concept and the combining of room operation elements like lighting, sunblind control, or room conditioning. This grants builders high flexibility for renting out their property. Some of the most significant features of L-ROC Room Automation solution:

Presence-dependent comfort control

During occupancy periods, the comfort limits for heating and cooling temperature setpoints is relatively small, whereas it gets larger during standby or unoccupied

periods. This saves energy without a loss in comfort. A scheduler and/or presence detectors can be used to switch between the setpoints.

Constant light control

This lighting function ensures that the light is switched on only when someone is present in the room and then, in consideration of the daylight, artificial light is dimmed to reach a fixed lighting setpoint (e.g. 500 lux at an office building workplace).

Energy level selection

Depending on the occupancy evaluation of the room, the system automatically switches between the different setpoints for room temperature control. This ensures, for example, that the energy-intensive comfort temperature setpoint is only regulated when the room is occupied.

Daylight harvesting

Control of the sun blinds depends on the sun’s position, which can ensure glare-free lighting while at the same time allowing for an optimum use of daylight.

The LOYTEC modern building technology system, thanks to the implementation of the LWEB-900 energy management software, can control the buildings even more intelligently and efficiently. An example of this is the automatic control of lighting and sun protection.

Due to the smart energy management software, energy consumption at the AUSTRIA CAMPUS has been reduced by approximately 20%. Furthermore, these features contribute to significant energy savings from the beginning.

The LROC-400 Room Automation solution, thanks to the cross-trade communication protocols as well as up to 8 segments per controller, achieved to control office areas in a cost-efficient, future-oriented and reliable way.

Thanks to the power and flexibility of LOYTEC products, it was possible to meet the project constraints defined by the client and install a realiable room automation solution.

The resulting building complex is remarkable in many aspects and has already achieved top certifications for its exemplary energy efficiency. Infact, all buildings at the Austria Campus have been awarded the ÖGNI, DGNB, and LEED New Construction Certification.

This signifies that they have been planned and constructed according to the highest sustainability and energy efficiency criteria.
